Today, we presented our storyboard and character for our project.
We had to partner someone when we present, so I partnered Gregory.

I presented my character and storyboard to the class and Alan said that I should add this last part to my story where there is this *pop* sound and the baby comes out.

I thought that was quite unecessary because I wanted to end my story there.
I wanted to end the story with the husband saying "You are pregnant?"

But Alan told the class to vote on whether i should do the last bit, and no surprise, everyone said yes.
The only thing I worry about now is that bit.
I don't have an idea on how I am suppose to storyboard that bit yet.
Alan also said that my storyboard need not be that long with all the in between part.
So.... Good news! I can shorten my animation with less scenes!
YAY!

Oh, Alan also commented on my drawing.
he said he likes my drawing. YAY.

Today, is not my group's consultation day, so we had our own time to do our own stuff for our own individual work.

I tried designing my characters today, and I never knew designing normal human characters was so tedious.

I drew many versions of what I had in mind, but I could not get what the wanted.

All of them looked odd and unfitting.

Fortunately, after pages of drawing, I am finally coming onto something.

I have a rough sketch of what my character looks like, and the character's looks fit the character in the story quite well.

I still have yet to come up with the storyboard. Still quite uncertain about how the story will flow.

I am actually quite worried about my storyboard, since I only have fragments of the story in my mind.

I think I need to gather all these fragments and form a story fast. Presentation is tomorrow, so I batter do all these with haste.

Today, we had a consultation session with alan.
Alan went around the class room to different groups to do consultation with half the class.
And fortunately, Alan went one round and came back to us with still time to spare.
So, I went to present my learning journal to him.

I think he thought my aims were ok, but not my storyline and flow.
I think my storyline is still not complete.
Although I know how my story goes, and the characters in the story,
I still do not know the specifics of the stories, and what will make the story interesting.

I still have yet to do up my character design and storyboard.
Alan also said that he does not know how my "news" can become a story.
Honestly, I still do not know and I think i have to figure this out ASAP.

Hopefully ideas will hit me when I am doing my storyboard.
I learnt about final objective too.
That if i wanted the audience to learn something out of the animation,
I had to add in empathy and emotion.
However, I think my animation should be done towards the humourous side.
So I am planning to make my animation more humourous and less lesson-learning.

-This can be shown through the daily unconcerned behaviour of the husband towards the wife.

The events are shown in linear sequence.

In the first 2 days of the subject, we did an exercise.
We formed into groups of 5, and in my group were Naf, Hanis, Yi Chuin, and Gina.
Then we had to choose a weird story from one of the 5 stories in Alan's hand.

Our story was about how this man only spoke an average of 3.5 words a day for a period of 2 months, and therefore his wife filed a divorce against him.

We then gathered together to discuss how we imagine it to be, whether in animation or video.
Most of us agreed that it would be more probable for it to be in a video format.

Then Alan gave us a list of 10 questions for us to answer.
these question required us to identify our target audience and what should the feel and etc.
I think the list of questions was quite useful as it helped us identify what kind of crowd we are catering to, and what kind of jokes, or form or delivery we should approach the story with.

Alan then told us that by answering these questions, it would eventually help us make decisions while producing the video.

I think this list of questions will be useful when I actually start on my Project 3.
But however, I think it would be a tough road ahead trying to complete an animation project alone.
but I think this module will prepare me for my FYP.
